TESTIMONIAL

Kim Spencer-Nairn, Founder and Chair Capture Photography Festival

”I first met John as a talented artist who participated in the inaugural year of the Capture Photography Festival in 2013. Subsequently, he stewarded the print grant sponsorship of the Festival and he personally ensured the highest standard of printing for our participating artists. These high standards were preserved when he and the print grant program moved in 2020. His enthusiasm and commitment to the photography community in Vancouver is unparalleled. John will always be a welcomed addition to an exhibition or print production team.“

PRINTING TECHNOLOGY

Monitor Calibration ensure what you see is what you get. From soft to hard proofing to the final print, the X-Rite i1Studio tool accurately calibrates for colour and tonality of the screens.

Printer Calibration helps ensure our printer is calibrated to each paper type. Custom profiles are generated for each paper with the X-Rite i1Studio Color Calibration System for accuracy and precision. Prints are made using the Epson SureColor P9570 44” wide printer and uses the all-new UltraChrome PRO12 Ink system. Inkjet printers are commonly referred to giclée (pronounced zhee-KLAY). But call them what you want. The goal for PrintMaker is to make your prints look their best!

True Black and White Printing is achieved using Epson’s Advanced Black & White controls. With a three ink technology inkset formulation, prints are even richer than before. Even better, your monochrome prints are made without any colour cast.

Archival inks, paper, and proper care and storage are what makes prints last. With our workflow, materials, and advice, your prints will be stable for a minimum of 200 years for colour prints and 600 for black & white.

Film Digitization and Artwork Reproduction are completed using high resolution digital image capture and scanning technologies. Artwork reproduction is carried out through digital image capture using a high resolution camera using a calibrated technique under controlled studio lighting.

PrintMaker is available for in-studio or on-location services. Reproductions will look like an original and can be used for both online and in print publishing. Artwork is archival and, perhaps with a little creative style, can be repurposed as derivative works.
