TESTIMONIAL
Ali Ledgerwood, The News Photographers Association of Canada

"John's attention to detail and perseverance for excellence is what sets him apart from most printers. That and his personal attention to the job at hand. We couldn't have been luckier to have him printing our National Pictures of the Year Exhibits for the Capture Photography Festivals over the years. He reproduced our member's digital files to exacting standards without compromise on the highest quality paper and on a tight deadline. A true caring craftsman in these modern times."

ABOUT

Thank you for taking an interest in PrintMaker Studio. Collaborating with other artists is what I enjoy most. For over 20 years, I have been serious about photography. I began my career as a research chemist with a specialty in spectroscopy, or literally the study of light. My experiments used light to study the unseen quantum world. After hanging up my lab coat, I established myself as a visual artist, a studio photographer, and then managed several print labs before taking a position as Creative Manager for an esteemed print studio.

I have exhibited my own photography at museums and as public art and have also printed for some of the most accomplished photographers including Ian Wallace, Greg Girard, Jessica Eaton, David Ellingsen, Aline Smithson, and many more through my involvement with the Capture Photography Festival.

I hope that we can collaborate together, to print and present your own body of work. Understanding and printing your artistic vision is the most important thing to me. - John Goldsmith

Print Partners and Sponsorships

We believe in you. In addition to our focus on environmental sustainability, we deeply care about social issues impacting our community. PrintMaker Studio regularly donates our printing services and outreach capacity to good causes including non-profits. In 2021, we donated our services to the Jewish Museum and Archives of BC, News Photographers Association of Canada as part of the 2021 Capture Photography Festival, and Breaking Bread Now, a fundraising effort to support restaurant workers impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

We also are actively involved in supporting local artists and non-for-profit arts organizations. John has printed for the Capture Photography Festival each year since 2014. More recently, PrintMaker Studio is proud to have partnered with C41 coffee and the non-profit Vancouver Street Photography Collective as official print sponsors.

If you’re an arts-based organization, talk to us about how we can partner, together.
