We make high quality digital captures through photography and film scanning. We also offer in-studio and on-location digital capture services for larger artwork. Scanning of film, including negatives and positives, has different requirements than the digital capture of original artwork, such as drawings, paintings, or 3D artwork. Regardless of the method, calibration standards are used throughout the process. Colour matching is critical in making high quality accurate reproductions. Once scanned, the digital files are saved as RAW or TIFF files. The images transferred via we WeTransfer in TIFF format, Adobe 98 colourspace at 300 dpi. These are the optimal file specifications for making the best prints. File sizes are large and allow printing upwards of up to 36 inches for 135 larger or larger for 120 film.

While digital portfolios are widely popular, printed portfolios are alive and well. They are used in a variety of fields to promote one’s work. They are especially critical in areas where prints are an end product, such as in architecture and fine art photography. Portfolios are printed on high quality photo paper or specializes double-sided portfolio paper.

Submitted images are printed as-is. However, we inspect every image prior to printing to identify common print quality issues. If we notice any issues, we will contact you. If you require custom Photoshop services, such as colour correction, black and white conversion, etc., please contact us in advance to determine the level of service necessary. We want your prints to look their very best.

Many visual artists, such as painters or sculptors, benefit from making a reproductions of their artwork. Reproductions are an important component to one’s practice. They are important for sharing on websites, social media, and promo materials. Since paintings, for example, can only be sold once, another important consideration in making high quality reproductions is the opportunity for derivative works.

With our in-studio or on-location digital capture services, we reproduce existing artwork to exacting specifications. With our calibrated workflow, we are able to capture or scan your artwork and recreate it on fine art paper or a digital copy for your website or promotional materials. If your artwork is installed or too big to move, we are happy to visit you with our specialized equipment.
